Drawing inspiration from Islington Giving, the London’s Giving network was launched in February 2015 with funding from City Bridge Trust. It has supported the development of place-based giving schemes across London by running forums and events to share learning; developing a toolkit of case studies, advice and other resources; and by providing one-to-one support.
The Trust has continued to support London’s Giving through a grant to London Funders and has also funded the development of local schemes in a number of boroughs, including Islington, Southwark, Lewisham , Camden, Barnet, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, Kingston, Haringey and Hounslow.
In July 2017, London’s Giving published its report, A Place to Give, which shines a light on placed-based giving schemes in London. The report shines a light on the diversity and dynamism of the place-based giving network in London. It encourages more people to get involved in their local schemes or help to set one up and provides some practical guidance and ideas for the London’s Giving Network.
