We want to support high quality work that will help us meet our priorities. We hope the following information will help you understand our application process and the information we need to consider your grant request.

Before you apply

Before making an application please make sure you have read the pages Who we fund and What we fund carefully as we are not able to fund work that does not help us meet our programme outcomes.

How the application process works

To apply for a City Bridge Trust Bridging Divides grant you need to complete an online application form and submit this with your supporting documents to the Trust. Details of how to do this and what documents to include are given below.

Once the City Bridge Trust has received your online application and all supporting documents it will be passed to one of the Trust’s Funding Managers for assessment. As part of this process a Funding Manager may contact you for more information. A Funding Manager may also arrange to visit your organisation as part of the assessment process. Once a full assessment has been completed your request will be referred to the City Bridge Trust Grants Committee for a decision.

The Grants Committee meets regularly and applications are accepted throughout the year for all of our current funding programmes. All applicants are advised in writing of the Grants Committee’s decision on their application within a few days of the relevant Grants Committee meeting.

Currently, we are receiving a very high number of applications which is challenging our ability to turn applications around within our normal timescales. We are working hard to put resources in place to increase our capacity but in the short-term, our turnaround time is 6 – 9 months. We will provide further updates when we can.
