Following the recent tragic events in London with the attacks at Westminster Bridge, London Bridge and Borough Market, our capital city has continued to suffer unimaginable grief with the fire at Grenfell Tower and incident at Finsbury Park.
The response of local people to all these events have shown the unbreakable strength of communities, coming together in a show of common support and humanity.
The City Bridge Trust and its trustee the City of London Corporation, are continuing to support the humanitarian effort for those who have suffered as best we can.
We are also continuing our support for the London Emergencies Trust (LET), which works in partnership with the British Red Cross, to distribute the funds raised from their public appeals, ensuring that the money reaches those most in need, both quickly and efficiently.
City Bridge Trust has made available the time and expertise of two of its members of staff, together with other resources, to ensure that LET has the capacity it needs to work effectively. This is in addition to the £75,000 that CBT has already contributed to the LET.
We recommend that anyone wishing to donate to the Grenfell Tower relief effort does so through the British Red Cross London Fire Fund.
Funds for the London Bridge / Borough Market appeal and other terror attacks across the UK can be directed through the Red Cross UK Solidarity Fund.
