COVID-19: Still standing with the sector

We stand with the sector

With our partner funders, City Bridge Trust recognises that the Covid-19 outbreak is an exceptional event that will have an ongoing impact on civil society groups and we want to offer reassurance that we continue to stand with the sector during this time.

In response to the crisis, a new fund was set up, the London Community Response Fund (LCRF), as part of the London Community Response collaborative funding initiative co-ordinated by London Funders.

This fund was established by the City of London Corporation through its charity, Bridge House Estates. City Bridge Trust (the funding arm of Bridge House Estates) and the Greater London Authority, and a number of other funders, have contributed to the fund, which has distributed some £30m of funding to date, over five waves of funding.

The most recent wave of the LCRF closed on 15 February 2021, and applications are still being assessed. It is anticipated that all funds will have been awarded by 30 April 2021.

Additionally, as a committed and responsive funder, we at City Bridge Trust are working hard to ensure we award grants and release payments as quickly as possible. Given this, and following the launch of the LCRF, we have temporarily decided to close some of our programmes to new applicants. The exceptions will be for those seeking continuation funding of an existing City Bridge Trust grant, Small Grants and Stepping Stones grants.

We will review this pause soon and will consider how and when the most appropriate time is to re-open.

We wish everyone the best at this difficult time.
