Almost 5.3m approved in new grants

At its recent meeting, the Committee Bridge Trust, with its committee approved 57 grants going out to the most marginalised Londoners – totalling almost £5.3m.  Covering the breadth of London, the grants will support several different groups, from older people to refugees to people with disabilities.

 

To name a few examples; in anticipation of increasing demand, the Trussell Trust received £317,700 towards building the capacity of 40 London foodbanks, increasing their resilience to meet emergency food demand and provide clients with access to help and advice. The Harrow Association of Disabled People received 198,900 to provide personalised mentoring, advice and guidance to adults with Autism, Aspergers Syndrome and associated conditions; and the Human Trafficking Foundation received £123,000 to transform London’s response to identifying survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery.

 

Under our Small Grants Programme, the Connaught Opera received £9,900 to engage older disadvantaged people in London Boroughs with free cultural events in their care centres.
