Together We Can End
Violence Against Women and Girls
Violence against women takes many forms and includes domestic
violence, sexual violence, abuse and exploitation, stalking,
trafficking, female genital mutation, forced marriage and crimes
committed in the name of honour. It requires a co-ordinated
response from a range of different partners working with children,
young people and adults.
Government strategy
The Home Secretary has opened a consultation on a Government
Violence Against Women Strategy. While the Home Office is leading
on its development, it will be a cross-Government strategy with
commitments from all Government departments. It will cover all
aspects of violence against women and will focus on the three
key areas: prevention, provision and protection.
