SHOUT OUT! - change the
world
The Sheila McKechnie Foundation was set up in 2005 in memory of
Dame Sheila McKechnie, former Director of the Consumer
Association and Shelter. In September 2007, the City Bridge Trust
awarded the Foundation a grant of £94,000 over three years towards
its Unlocking Potential programme. This programme
encourages young people aged between 15 and 18 to engage with their
local communities and schools through campaining on a particular
issue - improving the environment or beating bullying at
school or online, for example.
Now, the Sheila McKechnie Foundation has launched its Shout Out!
awards. If you are aged 15-18, live in London and have an idea or
have already started to campaign you can apply for an award. With a
Shout Out! award you get to meet other young campaigners, get £100
towards your campaign, receive coaching and attend an exclusive
awards ceremony.
