Future Jobs Fund -
Information Event
Social Enterprise London (SEL) is inviting social
entrepreneurs and social enterprise leaders from across London to
an information event on the Future Jobs Fund.
The evening will include a presentation from Philip Hayes from
the Government Office for London on the details of the fund, and
how social enterprises can effectively access it.
The Future Jobs Fund, administered by the Department of Work and
Pensions, is seeking bids which create at least 30 new jobs over a
six month period. Whilst this seems a lot, bids can be made up of
partnerships between public or private bodies and social
enterprises, and it's this aspect of the Fund which the information
event will focus on.
For each new job created, the employing organisation would
receive £6,500. Each bid will need to demonstrate that:
- it will create extra jobs, lasting at least 6 months, either
for long term unemployed young people or people in unemployment
hotspots
- the work done will benefit local communities
- the work will be underway quickly
Outline bids for the first allocations of funding need to be
submitted before the end of June.
