Investor Perspectives on Social Enterprise Financing

Published in July 2011, 'Investor Perspectives on Social Enterprise Financing' was jointly commissioned by the City of London Corporation, City Bridge Trust and Big Lottery Fund. The report was prepared by ClearlySo and explores what more could be done to attract the talent and resources of investors who wish to generate both social and financial returns.

The report explores the perspectives of different types of institutional investors towards financing social enterprises and social investment. It looks at: what attracts investors to social investment; the current level of interest; what is deterring investors; how to increase and encourage investment; and finally what models of investment might suit different types of investors.

This research reflects the growth of attention in this area and the increasing interest in enterprises which tackle issues within society.
